INCREASING THE SERVICE LIFE OF YOUR ROTATOR
This service tip suggests how to extend the service life of a rotator through a series of regular checks and measures.

Applies rotators that have a clamping connection between the shaft and the flange that are clamped with one or two M20 bolts.
Ensure to carry out maintenance after every 250 hours of operation. Then tighten the bolt connection to the grapple/head according to the manufacturer’s instructions. We recommend M16, 12.9, 330 Nm and M20, 12.9, 600 Nm
Check the magnetic plug after every 1000 hours of operation. In case of severe contamination make a photo and send it to us. We will provide you with a recomendation of what to do.
On harvester rotators and other rotators that can’t be turned by 360°, every 40 hours we advise you to carry out a static operation. When the rotator has achieved its nominal operating temperature, grasp a tree and run the rotation function for 3 minutes in the same direction. The hydraulic oil runs through the pressure limiter and back through the filter, so the rotator is supplied with filtered oil. This purity helps reduce wear and tear to the rotator.
For grapple rotators and all other rotators that can rotate 360°, run the rotation function every 40 h for 10 complete rotations to allow the hydraulic oil to run back through the filter, so the rotator is supplied with filtered oil. This operation should take place after the rotator has achieved nominal operating temperature.
