INDEXATOR presents “smart” rotators
for automated crane movements

INDEXATOR will be introducing the “smart rotator” system over the course of 2021.
This is an intelligent system for detecting the angle of rotation and angle speed.
“Smart rotator” makes semi-automated or fully-automated workflows for positioning grippers or other tools possible.
Improving the productivity of the driver-machine system
“Smart rotator” is a milestone for the automation of crane movements and the new benchmark in rotator development!
“Smart rotator” allows the turning function of the working tool to be integrated in the automation of the crane sequences.
This allows the machines to become faster while at the same time avoiding damage.
This reduces the burden on the drivers, which in turn improves the productivity of the driver-machine system.
System integrated step by step in the existing rotator series
The system will be integrated step by step in the existing rotator series so there is no need to redesign the suspension of the rotator.
This means that e.g. the powerful MPB-1 and MPB-2 pendulum brakes by INDEXATOR can still be used. Rotators with “smart rotator” pass a signal for the angle of rotation and the rotation speed to the CAN-Bus machine control.
A redundant signal is also sent for safety reasons. The sensors simultaneously monitor the rotator and send status messages to the machine control.
