HULTDINS grapple saws: SuperSaw 550, 551
SuperSaw 550 is the typical grapple saw for timber transport trucks.
The grapple saw is durable, robust, and easy to integrate in the hydraulics. It is our “plug & work” grapple saw. The easy attachment is made possible by the return control of the bar feed, which is self-regulating over a wide range of oil flows. For particularly gruelling work, e.g. on a skidder, there is the 550-S model. This features a very solidly built casing that houses and protects all components.
SuperSaw 551 comes with the same casing and mechanisms as the 550, differing only in the hydraulic control system. The 551 features a pressure control offering a wider range of settings for higher efficiency. Both of these models are fitted with the SuperCut grapple saw unit of many years’ standing. Depending on the hydraulic performance of the base machine, either the longlife 10 cc or 19 cc Parker piston motor can be chosen for the attached grapple saw. The 10 cc motor is the better choice for a hydraulic performance of 60–110 l/min, the 19 cc version for 120–169 l/min (both at 180 bar).
The bar feed and grapple saw motor are integrated in the SuperCut unit, with automatic hydraulic chain tensioning as standard. Attaching the grapple saw unit requires a mount and fastener kit. Either “Standard” or “Heavy Duty” can be chosen for the mounts. Standard is the right choice for trucks and forwarders. HD is the right choice for excavators and powerful articulated skidders. The fastener kit contains hydraulic hoses and bolts needed to assemble the HULTDINS grapple, HULTDINS SuperSaw, and Indexator GV124 or GV124-S.
The SuperSaw 550 and 551 units fit all HULTDINS grapples from the model series SuperGrip I to 720-S-VM and SuperGrip II.
The fastener kits are also suitable for grapples from other manufacturers – just ask us!
